Lunar Eclipse, Fama and Tapa da Luz - Philips Design and Arzak
During the 8th international gastronomy summit, madridfusión, Arzak and Philips Design present a series of concepts intended not only to delight palates, but also evoke emotion and stimulate the senses. The bone china series – Lunar Eclipse (bowl), Fama (long plate) and Tapa da Luz (serving plate) – is designed to react when food is placed on the plate or liquid is poured into the bowl.
Silicon plate – Alinea, Chef Grant Achatz.
Idea: this restaurant deconstructed the ideas of service, plating and oversized plates, creating a silicon plate that covers the surface of the all table. A roll of silicon is placed on the middle of the table and the guests are asked to unroll it starting their journey into an engaging and intriguing experience. The ingredients of the dish are prepared in the kitchen and transported into the dining room where chefs plate the food on the silicon plate in front of the guests.
